If you haven't been living under a rock for the past couple of years you won't need me to tell you just how popular 'vlog/blogmas' has become. And actually, I have to admit that watching certain Youtuber's Vlogmas videos is my guilty pleasure. Although I thought 'Vlogmas' just existed for those on YouTube, I have seen many bloggers this year suggesting that they're preparing for 'Blogmas'. So, I guess that leads to the question: Ellie, are you doing Blogmas this year?

Well, the answer is not exactly. Seems as Blogmas will last from the 1st-24th I have decided against doing Blogmas as although I have a few things planned over the Christmas season, for most of the time I will be at school - basically doing nothing. I am also going away for a few days after Christmas and am really hoping to share that with you, although of course, that wouldn't be involved in Blogmas. Instead, I'm hoping to number one: post more frequently and number two: write festive posts. This won't mean posts everyday, but it will mean lots of Christmas-y posts.

If you are planning on doing Blogmas please let me know as I can't wait to read other people's Christmas posts!

So originally I was going to write an 'October Favourites', however when I was gathering my latest favourites to take some photos it quickly sprung to my attention that actually, the makeup I chose was very winter-y and Christmas-y. So, here are my favourite winter beauty bits!
If you read my last post: Lazy Makeup, you'll know that my absolute favourite makeup step in the morning is highlighting, which is exactly why I've recently fallen in love with Benefit's High Beam! It's so, so beautiful while still being subtle and definitely not glittery. I use it in all places I would normally highlight my face, though it does look particularly stunning on the cupids bow, brow bone and on the inner corner of the eye.
Since the autumn/winter months are hitting us full force I've recently changed my everyday makeup look by switching my beloved bronzer for blush. Along with the highlighter I've been really loving Benefit's Bene Tint. It's a beautiful red colour, which gives you the perfect rosy-cheeks that looks like you've just come home from a long winter walk. Obviously, you can make it look as subtle or as harsh as you like, but a little goes a long way!
In terms of winter parties I feel you can get away with much more glittery, glamorous eye looks, which is why I've been loving L'Oreal's Color Infaillible eye shadow in the shade 001 Time Resist White. The shadow can be used all over the lid for an 'everyday makeup look' or paired with a smokey eye for more of a 'party' look. I've also found that pairing this eye shadow with the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner, which is another one of my favourites, looks extremely beautiful. It's so easy to use, stays on all day and is blacker than black. Also, the product itself lasts so long, so if you're looking for a new eyeliner to achieve an easy, flawless cat-eye then you really need to pick up this little pot of black magic!
If you didn't already know I'm an absolute false eyelash fanatic and since the Christmas party season is just around the corner I've been on the hunt for some new eyelashes. The ones I chose to feature are the Primark Dramatic Lashes. For just £1 you can't go wrong! Primark have a range of other style of lashes, including some natural ones of you're not keen on the 'faker' eyelash look. Also, all of the lashes come with a tube of adhesive and although I don't personally tend to use it I have used in previously and it's actually not too bad and would last you all night it you went out.
Finally, I have been absolutely loving a red lip. I've always liked darker lip colours in the Autumn/Winter months but have never felt I suit a dark purple or berry lip - so instead I just opt for red. I love pairing Barry M's Red Lip Liner with Natural Collection's Red Lipstick as it's much easier to apply to colour to my lips in the first place but it also lasts all day and isn't glossy, nor matte - it leaves quite a satin finish, which I very much love.
I hope you've enjoyed reading about my Winter makeup favourites and I would love to hear yours; I'm always looking for new beauty bits!

"Beauty is about living your life and being happy with yourself inside and out and not worrying about what people think of you"
So, bullying isn't usually a topic I speak about on my blog, or in real life in fact. However, I recently stumbled upon Treaclemoon, whose ambition is is to spread awareness to stamp out bullying and also increase self-belief. After researching and asking for more information it soon became apparent to me that actually, this was something I couldn't not feature here on my blog. It was the quote "true beauty comes from the heart" that particularly sparked my interest. However much I love the idea of makeup and fashion, a persons truest beauty will always come from the inside, their personality. Which is why both myself and Treaclemoon believe it is absolutely vital that each person is confident enough to be them self no matter what.
Being a teenage girl in today's generation I know as well as the next young person how difficult it is to confidently express your true self, especially with the pressure from social media. There is always going to be that fear of being judged or even worse, bullied. In reality though, the only people who are going to judge you are those who are too scared to express their own true selves. Although it can be scary at first to be your true self; you're unique and you have every right express that. I can't stress enough how important it is for you to be yourself. All of us are special in our own little way and that is exactly what makes us us.
Treaclemoon are also an official charity sponsor of BulliesOut. They help to provide information to young people while also helping them to recognise their self-worth and potential to ensure them of a positive future. If they sound like they'd be any help at all to you, don't hesitate to get in-touch and seek advise. Just as Treaclemoon believe, having the confidence to #beyou is so very important.
If you want to get involved and help change the lives of other young people you can: post on Treaclemoon's Facebook or Twitter page the most inspiring quite you know/can make up (be sure to use the hashtag #BEYOU). Or, post on their Facebook or Instagram an image that you feel celebrates yourself (again, be sure to use you hashtag). Or you could check out the #BEYOU shop, where all profit goes to BulliesOut.
